Ronda Ray
Ronda Ray & The Rumble - a modern-day Lita Ford meets Joan Jett!
She was named Best Rock Artist 2023 at The Josie Music Awards, and Best International Female Artist 2022 by the UK–based Radio Wigwam and “Kiss Me Deadly,” her tribute to the Queen of Metal, Lita Ford earned a nomination for the 2024 Song of the Year by Indie Rage Radio.
Writing songs and playing shows, for the past 15 years, her authentic, gritty, iron-cowgirl nature and love of rock ‘n‘ roll contribute to her unique sound, with a style inspired by the great rock bands of the 1970’s.
Ronda lives the life of a true rock ‘n’ roller, free on the open road, defying the status quo, with her Harley-Davidson, Blondie and dog, Ozzie, as her favorite companions.
Ronda has appeared alongside legends of rock, such as Stephen Pearcy of RATT, Spread Eagle and Lita Ford at the world famous Whisky A Go-Go in West Hollywood, CA.
Ever the consummate professional, Ronda has forged her path defying the status quo at every turn. Ronda was born in St Louis, Missouri. She lived the majority of her adult life (or as she calls it, growing up in every other way) in Texas.
Her career launched in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas, moved her to Muscle Shoals, Alabama and on to Los Angeles, CA. Ronda currently resides in Phoenix, AZ, a great base from which to tour the nation and ride her Harley-Davidson everyday.
Touring on her own terms, Ronda has made herself part of each and every venue, bike rally, fair, festival and community she visits, building a dedicated following across the country with people who are more than social media numbers and data. They are family and friends from all walks of life who have been inspired to live their dreams, beyond the status quo, right alongside her.
In 2025, we witnessed the rise of Ronda Ray & The Rumble, which resulted in the band’s current single, “The Thrill,” available everywhere October 10th. The band self-produced and tracked live at Music Freqs in Camarillo, CA, to get that raw, rock ‘n’ roll feeling that encapsulates the untamed and adventurous spirit of “The Thrill”.
The track was mixed in Los Angeles by JP Berreondo under the tutelage of Grammy-Award winning producer, engineer and drummer, Tony Braunegal (Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, Buddy Guy, BB King, Bette Midler, Lightnin’ Hopkins, John Lee Hooker, Lyle Lovette and more).
“The Thrill” is receiving radio play around the world as well as Spotify Playlist placements. Most importantly, it is inspiring people around the world, from every age and demographic, to blow off some steam and continue to pursue their dreams.
In 2023, Ronda headed to Nashville to record with Grammy- Award winning producer, Jeff Huskins (Head engineer at Studio A at BMG, Wolfgang Van Halen and many other top rock, pop and country artists) at the prestigious and historic Sound Stage Recording Studio on Music Row. As previously stated, her cover of Lita Ford’s, “Kiss Me Deadly,” was nominated for 2024 Song of the Year by Indie Rage Radio. “Baby Tonight,” is set to release in 2026.
Ronda returned to the road in 2022 with a brand new album produced by three-time Grammy-Award winner Gary McGrath. The album was recorded at Sonic Ranch Studios and featured McGrath on guitars and bass, Guyton Sanders on drums, and Dean Minnerly (Three Dog Night and Aretha Franklin) on keys.
Ronda’s first single and the title track from the album, “Walking Away” was initially released followed by “You’re Not Mine To Miss,” “Liar,” “You Break My Heart,” and Ronda’s unique take on the Fleetwood Mac classic, “Gold Dust Woman”. The new songs honed in on the next iteration of Ronda’s sound, bridging classic rock with new, while remaining authentic and soulful. They garnered fantastic radio play around the world as well as Spotify Playlist placements.
Ronda’s debut EP was recorded in the “Recording Capital of the World,” Muscle Shoals, Alabama at HearTell Studios. “It’s Party Time,“ was released in August 2020 and with it, Ronda wanted to tap into the rich musical heritage and southern rock roots Muscle Shoals is known for. Produced by Grant Walden and featuring Will McFarlane (Bonnie Raitt), Kelvin Holly (Little Richard) and Grammy-Award winning songwriter, Mark Namore, “It’s Party Time” was released during the worldwide pandemic and promoting it was a challenge.
However, Ronda felt it was important to hold nothing back and release it into the world to give people hope during such an unprecedented, difficult time. Her decision paid off as tracks were featured on many radio stations as she relentlessly toured the release throughout Texas, the Southeast, and the Midwest.
